Mini March for Life & Memorial Service
Holy Family Parish, Sandusky, MI
Sunday, January 20, 2019 - 2:00 PM
On January 20, 2019, we will celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS). SOHLS is a day for Americans to focus on the value of each and every human life. It is celebrated every year on the Sunday closest to the anniversary of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decisions Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which legalized abortion in every state for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy.
President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation creating the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day in January 1984, and it included these words:
"We have been given the precious gift of human life, made more precious still by our births in or pilgrimages to a land of freedom. It is fitting, then, on the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that struck down State anti-abortion laws, that we reflect anew on these blessings, and on our corresponding responsibility to guard with care the lives and freedoms of even the weakest of our fellow human beings."
We invite you to join with Right to Life of Sanilac County on Sunday, January 20, to remember the loss of more than 60 million unborn children since 1973 and help us celebrate the precious gift of life for all.
Join us at 2:00 p.m. for our Mini March for Life (outdoors). Gather at Holy Family Parish (St. Joseph) Catholic Church Hall at 59 N. Moore Street, Sandusky, MI. Come inside the hall to get a pro-life sign and March for Life with us to the Sanilac County Courthouse steps. Once there we will say a short prayer and march back to the church hall for the indoor memorial service. Then the Memorial Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. with Guest Speaker: Jennifer MacDonald, Executive Director of the Blue Water Pregnancy Care Center. All are welcome to attend these non-denominational services.
